Harry the Little Hippo Faces Danger in the Wild is the second illustrated children’s book in Terence Sorour’s Harry the Little Hippo series. As Harry grows older, his world becomes bigger – and so do the dangers he and his family must face in the African wild.

Harry shares his river pool with Mr Crocodile, who knows better than to challenge a fully grown hippo. But young hippos are smaller and more vulnerable. When Harry strays too far from Ma Hippo, Mr Crocodile sees his chance to attack. Ma Hippo charges through the water just in time, protecting Harry from becoming the crocodile’s next meal.

Danger also comes from a changing environment. During a severe drought, grass becomes scarce and the hippo family must travel farther from the river in search of food, exposing them to predators along the way.

When their river pool eventually dries up, Pa Hippo must lead the family in search of a new home – a journey that brings new challenges and dangers for Harry.
